This 5-night retreat will be held in a contained and nurturing atmosphere of contemplative silence, and will explore the concepts of emptiness and not-self, which reveal the profoundly paradoxical nature of the Buddhist path of healing and transformation. Drawing on an understanding of the transient and insubstantial nature of our sensory experience, we will learn how to transform our addictive, limited notions of ourselves to experience greater wholeness and inner freedom.
Cost: R2450.00 to R2950.00 plus donations for teacher and managers

This workshop is designed to assist women of all ages who experience menstrual pain and PMS. Living in pain and feeling “out of sorts” two to three days a month for years negatively impacts our energy levels and our ability to live with joy. Too many women approach “that time of the month” with emotions ranging from irritability to dread. We believe there are alternatives to anti-depressants, anti-inflammatories and pain killers to manage menstrual pain and PMS.
The workshop will help us to re-connect with the natural cycles of our bodies. Physical and Psychological explanations for PMS and menstrual pain will be explored, as well as our belief systems and attitudes to our menstrual cycles. The impact of changing hormones on our emotions will be covered, as will natural pain relief (including specific yoga poses) and nutritional approaches that support our natural cycles.
Our intention is to share our wisdom and experience to assist women to live happier, more joyful lives, no matter what time of the month it is!
The workshop will be facilitated by Alison Rielly (Counselling Psychologist) and Kaz Wilson (Nutritionist, Horticulurist and Iyengar Yoga Teacher)
COMMUNITY SWEAT LODGE
Led by experienced Sacred Pipe Carrier & Sweat Lodge Dance Chief Lou Worldweaver, this Purification follows in the same ancient time honoured traditions of the Twisted Hairs Lineage.
We gather together for the preparation of the space which includes Smudging, Blessing and calling the Powers of Creation into the Stone Children, building the Sacred Fire, covering the Sweat Lodge and calling on the Powers of the Medicine Wheel to create an alchemical container within which we can do our work safely.
Although it has a structure, the Ceremony, the theme and the participants are always different, therefore each Sweat Lodge is a unique experience unto itself. Following each Ceremony, we gather together to share insights gained before bringing the Circle to a close.
To conclude the Gathering, we celebrate our rebirth by sharing in a Feast. Each person brings a plate of food that has been created with love & prepared with care. This feeds the spirit as well as the body, and serves as a communal Heart Gift that we can share with each other.
Participating on a regular basis helps to purify, rejuvenate and maintain health and well being.
An exchange of R 400 per person is requested.
The requested Heart Exchange is inspired from understanding the principle of mutual exchange. It is an expression from your heart, to honour the value of what you gain from the experience by honestly giving what you can, no more and no less.
(Should the requested exchange be obstacle that prevents you from joining, please speak to us so we can discuss possible options.)
A balanced equitable exchange communicates the message that you are present, aware and committed to your journey, with the willingness to give equally for what you receive. The universe cannot help but respond in support to this kind of exchange.

The retreat program aims to take you on a journey deep inside leading to relaxation, restoration, and renewal. No need to be or do anything special. Be free to experience whatever is present for you. We will use the theme of the seasons to explore processes of cyclical change in our lives: times of moving inwards into the silence and stillness where we learn to trust the unknown and find our inner compass there; and times of moving outwards into the flow of acting on our conscious intentions. We will explore these processes of change through meditation, mindfulness and exercises inside and outside where we connect with ourselves, each other, and nature, deepening awareness, healing, transformation and alignment with our deepest desires. The weekend will be held in silence apart from the times of sharing together as a group.
Spend 10 profound days with us as we guide you through an intense process designed to successfully break free of unproductive patterns, behaviours & addictions & remove the emotional pain from your life in a supportive, healing & empowering environment.
Facilitated by Lou & Laurel, it incorporates many components to provide you with profound healing, transformational growth, personal development & holistic wellness.
It includes teachings & tools from a unique body of knowledge known as Medicine Wheels, experiential learning opportunities, purification processes & ceremonial components to awaken your inner healer.

This retreat will introduce the meditation guidelines of Insight Dialogue and offer an opportunity to explore the possibilities of a fully engaged co-meditation practice. We will explore the origins of suffering as well as the great potential of cultivating together the factors of awakening, including mindfulness, concentration, equanimity, loving kindness and compassion. We will investigate Speaking and Listening as meditative practices held and nourished by the deep foundation of silent practice. There will be periods of silent practice, alternating with meditation together in dyads, triads and small groups.
The Buddha described spiritual friendship as the “whole of the holy life.” In this retreat we will contemplate the qualities and power of our fundamental human rationality and investigate our capacity for cultivating spiritual friendship in the service of awakening together on the Noble Eightfold Path.
Cost: R2150.00 to R2550.00 plus Dana to teachers & managers
PIPE CEREMONY DETAILS…
We begin at NOON (SHARP) with a Sacred Medicine Pipe Ceremony and guided Personal Ceremony to clear out the old and make space to welcome in the new.
You are requested to offer a Donation from your Heart as an exchange equal to what you receive from this Circle.
A Heart Exchange, similar to the Buddhist concept of Dhana comes from giving what you can give, no more or less. Giving in this way communicates the message that you are present, aware and committed to your journey.
The universe cannot help but respond in support to this kind of give-away.
SWEAT LODGE DETAILS…
For thousands of years, indigenous people have been using the Sweat Lodge on a regular basis to cleanse & purify, rejuvenate & maintain their health & wellbeing on all levels.
Our annual New Year’s Day Sweat Lodge is like a powerful reset button. We clear away the debris of the year gone by so we can align yet again to our deeper meaning & purpose, set realistic intentions as we laugh, celebrate & enjoy the coming year
R 400 per person plus Feast Food
As you will find in many cultures and traditions, Feasting is a sharing of food in celebration of a memorable event or rite of passage. We traditionally bring our Gatherings to completion by sharing Feast Food in celebration of the rebirth we have each experienced. We each bring a plate of food that has been created with love and prepared with care, this feeds the spirit as well as the body. Bringing this kind of food to our feast is like a communal Heart Gift that we can share with our brothers and sisters.
