Chef Rum is passionate about natural health, nutrition and healthy cooking.

“I cook with fresh, seasonal, local, organic and mostly unprocessed foods.

I have been involved in the pub and restaurant industry from my early twenties. I took on a challenge around this time to renovate and manage my own pub, running this operation smoothly and successfully. I managed various pubs and restaurants before completing my Chef Diploma at The Prue Leith School of Food and Wine. This opened up the doors for me to explore the Hotel industry. Having a strong foundation working in 5 star Hotels, both in al a carte and buffet service, gave me an advanced knowledge of the smooth running of kitchens. During this time I had opportunities to interact with important public figures including Jimmy Carter, Will Smith, Bill Clinton, Quinton Tarantino, Kofi Annan, Tim Robbins and my highlight, Nelson Mandela. Combining the above with facility management skills from working on remote sites catering from 30 – 200 people, I am able to offer you strong advice and tools to make your business a success.


I bring my passion for cooking into your own home.  Our fun filled cooking classes and team building events will leave you a Guru in your own right.


My falafel is tantalising taste buds every time I serve it. I serve at many Food Markets in and around Durban.”
